Fun Facts!

Did you know?

Some of Mr. Anand’s “Claims to Fame”:

Fun Fact/Trivia/Mr. Anand’s “Claim to Fame” (for your enjoyment): In 1996 (a couple of years after coming to the US for his MBA from Boston College), Mr. Anand was stationed in Denver for a special project at J.D. Edwards. Since he was (approximately) in the middle of the country, he decided to visit all 48 contiguous U.S. states that year (52 weekends; 48 states) — some by car, others by air — and purchased a shot-glass as a souvenir from each state. Great way to see the United States of America!

Over the past decades (since ~2000), Mr. Anand has continued to travel extensively not just within the US but also around the globe (dozens of countries across both hemispheres). However, there are still many countries he has not yet visited, so if there are potential/prospective opportunities for him to visit/teach/speak, he would like to know. Please contact him here.

Where does Mr. Anand’s passion for training and teaching come from? At least to some extent, its in his blood. On his dad’s side, going all way back to his great-grandfather and including many of his and his dad’s aunts and uncles, there are school teachers. Likewise on his mom’s side, going back to his grandmother, are college teachers. For example, his mom was a Professor of English Literature at one of the best colleges in Delhi University. Sanjay continues his family’s legacy. Interestingly, his high-school friends call him “swami” which in Hindi means “learned one” and “teacher”. And ironically his mother’s maiden name was GoSwamy!

And speaking of learning and teaching, another of Mr. Anand’s “claims to fame” is that he was the first student ever at BITS Pilani (his undergraduate alma mater) to graduate early (three-and-a-half years instead of four). Others have since followed suit. Some in his alma mater therefore refer to him as the “Roger Bannister” of education (Roger Bannister was the first person to run a sub 4-minute mile thereby changing the thoughts and beliefs of what speeds humans are capable of).

And speaking of firsts, Mr. Anand was the first (and as far as we know, the last and only) in his high school’s history to major in two (rather than just one) electives. In fact, one of those two electives was not even an option offered by his high school. So how did he do it? The next time you see him in person, be sure to ask him!

Mr. Anand’s Favorite Quote: "Try not to become a man of success, but rather become a man of value. He is considered successful in our day who gets more out of life than he puts in. But a man of value will give more than he receives.” - Albert Einstein

He is passionate about helping, motivating, enabling and encouraging others achieve same/similar/better results and outcomes in their own professional lives. He truly believes that if he can do it, so can anyone else, and he leaves no stone unturned in delivering tremendous value to all those who attend his programs.
